Jumbo/Giant Water Lettuce (Pistia stratiotes) x 3 Plants

[Note: Listing is for 3 medium-sized plants, 10 - 15 cm across]

These are the giant water lettuce type, typically 35 - 45 cm across when fully grown (as per last photo). 

They grow quite fast (propagating from runners) and are excellent at taking up nutrients to help keep your water clean and healthy. They are fantastic at helping to control algae.

These large plants acclimatise quickly and are suitable for outdoor ponds, tropical aquaria and cold water aquaria. Please note they are not frost tolerant. For outdoor ponds we recommend keeping some smaller plants indoors over winter. 

Their fine, trailing roots provide perfect hiding places for smaller fish and fry.

As with most floating plants they don't like a lot of current or the tops of their leaves to be wet. 

The plants are grown by us in our specialist aquaria, using our own sustainable methods. We don't use chemicals or chemical fertilisers on these plants so they are snail and shrimp safe too.
