[Note: This plant is grown by us submersed]

This compact, small-leaved plant grows in an attractive fashion across the substrate like a green carpet. It can also thrive free floating.

The way the plant grows when planted in substrate depends on the lighting, it needs bright lighting to encourage it to spread across, under lower lighting it will grow upwards.

It's not necessary to provide CO₂ but it does help faster growth if available. This is an easier to grow carpeting plant than the similar (but slightly smaller and more delicate) Micranthemum umbrosum.

It likes fairly warm temperatures, so only suitable for tropical tanks, we'd recommend a minimum of 22°C (will tolerate up to 30°C).

The plants are grown by us in our specialist aquaria, using our own sustainable methods. We don't use chemicals or chemical fertilisers on these plants so they are snail and shrimp safe too.

All of our plants are grown in real world conditions, not in stale agar in a laboratory, so they will adapt really quickly to their new home and there should be no danger of melting which happens with plants from grow cups.
