Elodea is one of the best-known and popular aquatic plants. It is highly adaptable, fast growing and one of the easiest aquatic plants to keep.
Ideally it prefers hard water, but will adapt to a wide range of water conditions and temperatures (both cold water and tropical). If kept in aquariums at higher temperatures it requires good lighting.
