The Bucephalandra Sp. 'Neo' is a rare and captivating epiphyte plant, prized by aquarium enthusiasts for its stunning dark iridescent leaves.

This small, slow-growing variety is grown emersed from a cutting, making it a truly special addition to any aquascape.

It thrives best when attached to rocks, wood, or pebbles — it is essential that the rhizome is never buried in substrate, as this will cause it to rot and ultimately kill the plant. The roots, however, can be gently pushed into substrate if preferred.

Bucephalandra Sp. 'Neo' requires stable warm temperatures between 20 and 28°C, along with regular fertilisation. Take care not to over-fertilise, as excess nutrients can encourage algal growth, which may hinder the plant's development. Lower light levels are recommended for the same reason. Whilst CO₂ supplementation is beneficial, it is not essential for this plant to thrive.

With the right conditions and attentive care, this remarkable plant will reward you with beautifully rich, iridescent foliage that adds a striking focal point to your aquarium.
